Some infections can be present
without obvious symptoms.
You can feel completely well and still have an infection. Testing can be an important part of taking care of yourself, especially when starting a new relationship, after a possible exposure, or when you simply want to know your status.
Ghana's AIDS Commission estimates that about 337,435 people were living with HIV and approximately 13,951 new HIV infections occurred in 2025.
Hepatitis B and C can cause serious liver disease, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. Many infected people may not know they have it until complications develop.
Testing can give you useful information before making decisions about your sexual health, a new relationship, or seeking further medical care.
Some sexually transmitted infections may cause few or no noticeable symptoms, particularly in the early stages. Testing can help you discover a possible problem earlier and seek appropriate medical care.
Without treatment, HIV can progressively damage the immune system. Early diagnosis allows people to access treatment and care.
Syphilis is a curable STI, but untreated infection can cause serious complications and can also be passed to sexual partners.
Chronic hepatitis B can lead to serious liver disease, including cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Hepatitis C can become chronic and may cause liver damage over time. Testing is important because effective treatment is available.

Check the control and test lines on each section and compare them with the result guide.
📑 HOW TO READ YOUR RESULT
What do the lines mean?
Look at the C (Control) and T (Test) positions on each test section.
Non-reactive screening result
Only the control line appears.
Reactive screening result
A line at T together with a line at C means the screening test is reactive. Seek confirmatory testing at a healthcare facility.
INVALID RESULT
The test did not work correctly. Repeat with a new test and follow the instructions carefully.
AFTER YOUR TEST
Your Result is Information - Know what to do next.
A non-reactive result means the test did not detect the marker it is designed to screen for. However, if your possible exposure was recent, speak with a healthcare professional about whether repeat testing is needed.
A reactive screening result needs confirmation by a qualified healthcare professional or laboratory. Avoid assuming a diagnosis from the self-test alone.
If there is no control line, the test is invalid. If you cannot confidently interpret the lines, do not guess. Repeat the test as instructed or seek professional assistance.
What Venchecker screens for
Four screening panels from one finger-prick blood sample.
Screens for HIV-1/2 antibodies. A reactive result requires confirmatory testing.
Syphilis can sometimes go unnoticed, particularly in its early stages. Screening can help identify when further evaluation is needed.
The HBsAg panel screens for Hepatitis B surface antigen. Hepatitis B can affect the liver and may not cause obvious symptoms.
The HCV panel screens for markers associated with Hepatitis C, which can cause chronic liver disease if untreated.
Screen in the privacy of your own space.
Use a small finger-prick blood sample for the four panels.
Read the panels around 15–20 minutes when used as directed.
Screening can be part of an open, responsible conversation between partners.
Your health information is personal. Keep your purchase private.
Any reactive result should be confirmed professionally.
A non-reactive result does not rule out a very recent infection. Window periods can affect results. If you recently had a possible exposure, speak with a qualified healthcare professional about appropriate repeat or laboratory testing.
A reactive result is not a diagnosis. Arrange appropriate confirmatory testing.
If you may have had an HIV exposure within the last 72 hours, don't wait for a home-test result. Seek urgent medical advice about PEP immediately.
Use only as directed. Check the expiry date and storage requirements before use.

Venchecker is intended for screening and is not a substitute for laboratory diagnosis. Results can be affected by factors such as timing after exposure and correct use of the test. A reactive result should be followed by appropriate confirmatory testing with a qualified healthcare professional.
A non-reactive result means the test did not detect the marker it is designed to screen for at the time of testing. However, a very recent infection may not yet be detectable because of the window period. If you recently had a possible exposure, speak with a healthcare professional about repeat or laboratory testing.
A reactive result means the screening test detected something that requires further investigation. It does not by itself confirm a diagnosis. Arrange appropriate confirmatory testing with a qualified healthcare professional or laboratory.
The test is invalid if the required control line does not appear. Do not interpret an invalid test as positive or negative. Repeat the test with a new kit and carefully follow the instructions supplied with the kit.
A test performed too soon after exposure may not detect an infection because of the window period. If you have recently had a possible exposure, speak with a healthcare professional about the appropriate time to test or repeat the test.
